The Lemon Italian Sodas

I had one today, and I have to say — it was one of the most refreshing drinks I’ve had in a long time.  Next to the ginger and lemongrass iced tea — this was the best.  I’m in the process of developing some new smoothie recipes using fresh seasonal fruits — stay tuned!
Oh — [...]

Choosing Suppliers: Six Months Later

I thought it would be interesting to talk about how I choose different things for the cafe — maybe it would give you some insight into why I sell Brand A and not Brand B, or item A and not item B.  If you have any suggested items…or brands — please shoot me an email!
Generally, [...]

Menu Update

Due to its incredible popularity, the fresh mozz and basil on sundried tomato bread sandwich is staying on the menu through the summer.  Glad to see that the brie and turkey was well-received — it will be back.  This week I’m bringing back the turkey with tapenade — this time with spring mix, tomato, and white [...]

Holiday Happenings

In observance of Memorial Day (and because I really need a day off) — we’re closed Monday.  Open Saturday and Sunday, however.  Stop by and check out the new back patio!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Weekend Spicy Vegetarian Special

Starting Saturday, there’s a new special in the lineup.  An Asian wrap with spring mix tossed with a spicy peanut dressing (homemade, of course) and water chestnuts/bamboo shoots.  Totally vegetarian and really yummy.  Served, as always, with fruit salad or chips.  $5.95.

A New Boylan’s Flavor

Just received a case of Black Cherry — give it a try.  If you like cane-sugar sweetened soda without high-fructose corn syrup — this is a nice addition to the flavors we already carry.  Enjoy!
I also added more photos to our Flickr account.  Have a look — the link’s over there >>>.

Brie Schmie

The latest special, starting Monday:  Brie cheese w/granny smith apple and turkey on ciabatta bread.  Light, crisp, and springlike.  You’ll love it, trust me.  I didn’t lie about the tapenade, and I’m not lying now.  $6.95 with fruit salad or chips.
The fresh mozz on sundried tomato bread sandwich will remain on the menu for the [...]

Saturday Cleanup

Don’t forget to help your neighbors clean up the community on Saturdays!  Meet at the Village Center at 8:45.  So far, well over 100 tons of trash have been removed from Pigtown — keep up the good work!!
By the way, the cleanups are also an excellent way to get to know your neighbors, which is [...]

Hungry? Need a Snack?

Not in the mood for a big sandwich?  Try the new open-faced sandwich – Jack’s Snack.  Named after our Pigtown Mainstreet Program Director — Jack Danna.  One slice of multi-grain toast with goat cheese, tapenade, and thinly sliced tomato.  A wonderful little treat for $2.95.
As the weather heats up, we’ll have more open-faced veggie sandwiches and light [...]

Music Schmusic

If you like the music you hear when you come in, please call WTMD and give them money.  410-704-8970.  They’re having a membership drive — and it’s definitely a worthy cause.  I’d much rather listen to WTMD on their worst day than some….other station that plays canned pop.
Don’t make me bust out the Britney CDs.  [...]
