Recipes

Evelyn’s is the cozy coffeehouse and cafe located in the Historic Pigtown neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. With a satisfying menu of panini, cold sandwiches, pastries, salads, and a variety of coffees, teas, and cold beverages, there’s sure to be something on the menu to please even the pickiest eaters.

Our coffees are all fair trade/organic. Some of our rotating varieties: French Roast, Montebello Blend, Hippie Blend, Mexican Chiapas, and Guatemalan Huehuetenango. Our espresso is also organic and fair trade. We’re the only place in Pigtown for locally-owned Zeke’s Coffee! We also sell an interesting line of organic tea — please try our ginger lemongrass iced tea, raspberry iced tea, or a Boylan’s cane sugar-sweetened soda — perfect for the summer!

Our smoothies (often imitated, never duplicated) are whole-fruit blends, with no sugar and definitely no mixes/other stuff. Just 100% pure fruit and fruit juices. (With the exception of the Elvis Lives — that contains organic soy milk and organic peanut butter…still no chemicals, junk, or sugar!) One fruit smoothie has almost an entire day’s 5 servings of fruit!
Now that the weather’s getting warmer, have an Italian soda while enjoying our back patio. We use only Torani syrups — authentic Italian syrups in a wide variety of fruit flavors, plus vanilla bean. All are cane-sugar sweetened.

Owned by Carol Ott, a Pigtown resident for the past seven years, Evelyn’s is named after Carol’s grandmother — a force to be reckoned with in the kitchen. Evelyn’s love of food has been passed down through the generations, and we hope you enjoy our food as much as we enjoy making it. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions — please don’t hesitate to let us know. Email us at info/at/evelynscafe/dot/com or call 410-230-0651.

I thought it would be nice if I gave out a few of my favorite recipes — things you won’t necessarily find on Evelyn’s menu, but they’re tried and true recipes that I’ve used over and over again for entertaining or when I feel like splurging at home. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or comments about the recipes.

Enjoy!

–Carol
